Florida boasts an expansive culture; from Miami's thumping nightlife to the children's paradise that is Disneyland in Orlando, Florida has something for everyone. Long coastlines extending from the Gulf of Mexico to the Straits of Florida and on into the Atlantic Ocean make Florida a common choice for beach vacations, while the lush everglades inland attract visitors who wish to see the unique flora and fauna that Florida has to offer.
Florida has numerous state and national parks and the state itself offers a vast variety of terrain, from inland tropical wetlands to coastal islands surrounded by coral reefs. Three national parks are found in Florida's southern tip near Miami; the Everglades National Park, Biscayne National Park and Big Cypress National Preserve. Florida also boasts just over 160 state parks, including Alafia River State Park, Bald Point State Park, Blue Spring State Park and Ellie Schiller Homosassa Springs Wildlife State Park.
Miami, Florida is a sprawling coastal city, offering great nightlife, beaches, shopping, and business opportunities to all visitors. From Coral Gables to Bal Harbour, Miami's colorful culture and beautiful beaches make it a wonderful city to visit for business or pleasure.
Private jet charter flights from New York to Miami International Airport / Miami-Dade County (KMIA/MIA) are generally comfortable in a light jet, such as a Learjet 35 or Hawker 400-- or a Phenom 100 very light jet (VLJ) (sometimes referred to as a micro-jet, a term which seems to be going out of fashion) which may be an opportunity to take a relatively new jet for your charter flight at similar costs, or possibly at a better rate, as compared to a standard light jet. Though clients sometimes request turboprop options, such as a King Air 200 or Pilatus PC-12 for flight routes such as Teterboro Airport (KTEB/TEB) to West Palm Beach (KPBI/PBI) or White Plains/Westchester County Airport (KHPN/HPN) to Fort Lauderdale Executive Airport (KFXE/FXE), we generally recommend upgrading to at least a light jet, or even a mid jet--such as a Learjet 60 or Hawker 800, as the flight is relatively long and uncomfortable in a turboprop charter plane.
Upgrading to a super mid jet for a private plane charter flight from the upper east coast area to Florida or viceversa, commonly referred to in the private jet charter business as a "north-south" or "south-north", would be a treat. An executive business charter jet such as a Citation X or Challenger 300, though it may be overkill, are nice higher-end options. Generally, we wouldn't recommend this much aircraft, so to speak, to our clients for such a short flight. Super mids are more appropriate for longer range flights if value is really what you are after.
Departing New York to PBI on a Citation X private jet charter would be fun, to say the least. The Citation X is often referred to simply as a "X" -- as in the roman numeral -- or as in just plain awesome. The Citation X business jet is as arguably brilliant as super mids get. Or at least until the Citation X+ makes its first appearance. Until then, the Citation X stakes firm claim to the well deserved position as the fastest super mid business jet on the planet. Still, some clients may prefer the larger cabin of the Challenger 300, albeit a touch slower--but not by much.
Turboprops on the other hand, make excellent options for flights within Florida or from South Florida to a variety of islands in the Caribbean or the Keys, such as: Nassau, Bahamas; Cayman Islands; Jamaica; or Turks and Caicos Islands, to name a few.
